Seed Saving Field Classes at our farm:
Sundays August 14, August 28, Sept 11 4 pm -6 pm,
Hands on experience of harvesting ripe seed from our vegetable and flower gardens as well as threshing and cleaning it by hand. Also learning isolation distance to keep seed pure and learning about the plant families. Each class will focus on whatever is ripe. Directions to our farm: beginning at the Scottsbluff Sugar Factory, stay on highway 26 toward Minatare past Frank Implement until coming to County Rd 26. Turn left or north and it is the first left hand driveway. (It is approximately 3 miles from the sugar factory.) A landmark is the highway mitigation pond just north of highway 26. Our farm can be seen from the highway with a house and gray barn north of the pond.
Meadowlark also has Garlic bulbs for sale: for seed and for eating. (For seed: plant cloves in October for following year’s harvest.)
